**continuation of Untitled Disaster**
The tobacco stained bulb that hung from a dust covered chain was the only light in the room. The light reflected grossly off the wet crimson on the walls, making the dried black look like gaping, never ending wounds.
I was strapped to a small bed, barely big enough for an adult. I didn’t struggle against the straps that were likely covered in old blood and dirt. My brain was sluggish and tried to panic but failed miserably. Nothing I did would make a difference anyway, there was no point in struggling.
Whoever put me here wanted me complacent, and that’s what I was at the moment. It was a disgusting feeling. I was never complacent or compliant. They knew that. They knew me. Whoever they were. No one came to mind. Which is probably a good thing.
My nose twitched as a new smell crept into the room. It wasn’t so much a smell, but a burning sensation in my nostrils. It was acrid and nauseating. I yanked my head sharply to my left side to avoid puking on myself, I didn’t feel like drowning in my own vomit.
The room swam in my vision as the acrid smell swept over my already sluggish senses. I threw up again, I felt as though I had a concussion, but without the throbbing head.
A high pitched screaming laugh echoed through the room. I couldn’t tell where it was coming from, it seemed to be coming from everywhere and nowhere. No door had opened, but maybe there were speakers in the putrid walls.
It stopped. The laughing finally stopped after what felt like an eternity. My ears rang in protest to the sudden silence. I couldn’t be happier. I laughed. It sounded eerily like the chalkboard laugh I had heard only moments ago. Now I was confused. Was I the one that had been laughing?
The room swam again. I heaved, straining against the restraints to empty what was left in my stomach. I was thankful I could no longer smell whatever had invaded my nose, but now I just smelled the vomit splattered on the cement floor.
I closed my eyes and prayed for some peace. I realized I needed to quit living in a hell thats all my own, and start living in a utopia just for me.
A warm breeze tickled the hair across my forehead, a smell of lavender and peppermint teased my senses. I felt like I was in a Frebreeze commercial.
I opened my eyes to sunlight on my face and a fleece blanket under me. No restraints. No putrid walls. No tiny bed. Sunshine behind an oversized oak tree with peppermint planted at the base.
My hell was in my head. But so is my paradise.
